Over 100 Repairers Take Part in Statewide AASP/NJ Estimology Seminars
The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ), the state’s largest association of collision and mechanical repairers, continued its commitment to industry education with the hosting of two “estimology” seminars in October. Renowned industry trainer Larry Montanez presented the meetings, held on October 13 in Toms River and October 15 in Totowa. Montanez, a former I-CAR instructor and current co-owner of P&L Consultants, explored topics on the rapidly evolving repair needs of today’s vehicles including new metals, frame measuring, damage analysis and much more. Best of all, at the conclusion of each meeting, over 120 attendees received training certificates good toward 2010 renewal of the New Jersey Auto Body License.
“There was a ton of great information at this meeting,” said AASP/NJ Collision Chairman Anthony Trama, who was among over 60 attendees at the October 15 Totowa meeting. “The items Larry covered could easily be applied to any shop looking to boost their productivity, and for me, the discussion on the different types of metals being used in some vehicles today was a total eye-opener. “The information offered through these estimology seminars was very well-received by all of our attendees,” explains AASP/NJ President, Tom Elder, “and Larry’s upbeat teaching style kept all in attendance engaged from start to finish. We were very pleased to see such an impressive turnout for these meetings, and hope to see all these members and more at our annual meeting coming up on October 29.”
The estimology seminar was the third in a series of meetings AASP/NJ has scheduled for the fall. The association’s Annual Meeting, featuring SCRS Chairman Aaron Schulenburg and Rachel Holland from the NJ Right to Repair Coalition will take place Thursday, October 29 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Clark.
