The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) is thrilled to announce that NORTHEAST 2018 will exclusively feature the vehicles involved in Attorney Todd Tracy’s KARCO Engineering crash tests. Thanks to sponsors Reliable Automotive Equipment, this will be the first time the public will be able to see these cars on display.
Todd Tracy famously won the plaintiffs in a case against John Eagle Collision in Dallas, Texas $31.5 million, after their 2010 Honda Fit was hit by a hydroplaning Toyota Tundra and burst into flames, with the couple trapped inside. In a previous repair on the Fit, John Eagle Collision chose to ignore Honda procedures that required the roof of the Fit to be welded on, opting instead to glue it back on with adhesive.
Following the verdict, Tracy worked with KARCO Engineering to perform crash tests in Adelanto, California. He used three Honda Fits: One with a glued on roof (as it was performed by John Eagle Collision), one repaired with aftermarket parts and one with OEM parts. The results from the tests not only prove the error in John Eagle’s ways, but also show the potential negative impact of aftermarket parts on vehicle occupants.
Todd Tracy will present “Anatomy of a Lawsuit – Crash Testing for Evidence” at NORTHEAST on Saturday, March 17 at 5pm (NORTHEAST Room A – Main Level), and the crash test vehicles will be on display for the duration of the show in the Pavilion Level. AASP/NJ strongly advises all attendees to get to the show well in advance to see the cars, as the show floor closes for the day at 5pm. Attendees won’t want to miss this exclusive opportunity that’s only available at NORTHEAST!
AASP/NJ’s NORTHEAST 2018 Automotive Services Show will be held March 16-18, 2018 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ. For more information, and to pre-register for free today, visit aaspnjnortheast.com.
