2.27.23 – When one thinks of Northern New Jersey, two great “shows” come to mind: The Sopranos TV show and the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey’s (AASP/NJ) NORTHEAST® Automotive Services Show.

As the countdown to the 2023 iteration of AASP/NJ’s flagship show continues, promotion for the show heats up with its latest promotional video that is sure to inspire automotive and collision professionals to head down to the Meadowlands Exposition Center (MEC) in Secaucus, NJ March 17-19…and maybe they’ll make a pit stop at Pizzaland, too.

The video, (available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn7AwMF5kTM), mimics the legendary show’s opening credits shot by shot from the viewpoint of the driver as he exits the Lincoln Tunnel, enters the New Jersey Turnpike and winds up at his final destination – the MEC, home to the NORTHEAST show.

“It’s always fun to come up with new ways to promote NORTHEAST,” says NORTHEAST Event Manager and AASP/NJ Secretary Thomas Greco. “We thought something cool might be to try and recreate the iconic opening of what is universally referred to as one of the greatest TV shows of all time, The Sopranos. After all, both shows take place right here in Northern New Jersey.”

The names of the show’s “stars” – industry professionals who will lead this year’s NORTHEAST educational slate (sponsored by AirPro Diagnostics), such as Mike Anderson, Aaron Schulenburg and Tim Ronak – flash by during the promo as the viewer begins to get glimpses of who is driving the car, which turns out to be a familiar face from the NORTHEAST Show!

“We hope people have as much fun watching it as we did making it,” Greco adds. “More importantly, we hope it reminds people that NORTHEAST is coming up next month which means it’s time to register and sign up to see all the automotive service industry ‘stars’ mentioned in the video.”

Every March, thousands of industry professionals attend NORTHEAST to take in the latest and greatest equipment and innovations showcased on the show floor, interact with their peers face-to-face and obtain national-level education from some of the industry’s top presenters. As if all that goes on in the classrooms and on the show floor isn’t enough to entice participants, this year, AASP/NJ introduces the inaugural Bodywork Bowl Collision Repair Skills Competition on Saturday, March 18! This new addition to the show provides collision repairers with a chance to compete among their peers in the categories of estimating, welding or painting for a chance to win a $500 cash prize.

Other opportunities include a chance to be one of 10 lucky winners who will walk away with $500 in NORTHEAST Dollars which can be applied to any purchase at the show! All attendees who pre-register for NORTHEAST 2023 will automatically be entered into drawings which will be held through the show weekend. Winners must be present.
