In an effort to enhance the quality of the vendor experience at the 37th Annual NORTHEAST 2014 Automotive Services Show, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) will be offering free wireless Internet service (Wi-Fi) access to all vendors at the event taking place March 21, 22 and 23, 2014 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center (MEC) in Secaucus, NJ.

Offering free Internet access is a major break from the traditional trade show way of doing business. “Ever since the Internet became the main source of communication, large events like trade shows have found a way to profit from it by charging for access,” says AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell. “In most cases, you are at the mercy of the facility when it comes to that. We are happy to announce that we have worked out a deal with the MEC and BRP Tech Meadowlands that allows us to offer free Wi-Fi to all our exhibitors for the 2014 show.”

Pricing for Internet access at trade shows typically can cost in the hundreds or thousands of dollars based on the amount of usage. NORTHEAST 2014 will not have any limits for its vendors. BRP Tech Meadowlands offers its users a seamless, truly mobile Wi-Fi environment throughout the Meadowlands Exposition Center. Through its Engage: Access portal, users are authenticated and connected with ease and automation. With speeds up to 100Mbps, wireless connectivity is fast and accessible.

“This is just another step forward in the process of making the NORTHEAST show the preeminent show east of the Mississippi,” McDowell adds. “Our goal is to make it a one-of-a-kind event for vendors AND attendees; each year, we will do what is necessary to keep it that way. I’d like to think free Wi-Fi is not just a step but a leap for NORTHEAST.”
