8.26.19  – The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) continues its annual tradition on the green with its 15th Annual Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing on Monday, September 16 at the Colonia Country Club.
The event is one of the association’s most popular, as it brings members of the automotive community together year after year in memory of former Board member Lou Scoras. Proceeds from the event are put towards a collision industry scholarship fund directed towards encouraging young people to consider a career in collision repair.
“This year’s AASP/NJ Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing will mark the 15th year that AASP/NJ has honored former shop owner and association leader Lou Scoras since his passing. It also marks the first year since the passing of industry legend Lee Vetland. Lee was not only a tremendous AASP/NJ supporter but also part owner in the Colonia Country Club where the outing has been held for many years now,” shares AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant. “We plan on celebrating Lee’s memory with a special presentation at the dinner following the tournament. As always, this year’s outing will be a great opportunity for longtime repair professionals to come together with new up and coming industry members for a day in the sun. It’s a chance to not only leave the day-to-day stress of running a business at the shop, but also to remember people like Lou and Lee who dedicated so much of their time to making the industry better.”
“Take the half day off and come enjoy time with others within the industry. Come support the cause and be part of the team,” adds AASP/NJ President Jerry McNee.
The day will begin with registration at 10am and lunch at 11:30am, followed by a 1pm shotgun start. The golf outing will conclude with cash bar, dinner and prizes at 6pm.
