The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) will be hosting two meetings in September on the industry’s most recent hot topic – aluminum repair. Dave Gruskos of Reliable Automotive Equipment, Inc., will discuss what the future of the industry holds with the rapidly changing materials being used today and down the road.
“The association is always working to inform the local industry about topics that are important to our day-to-day business,” says AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell. “Aluminum and its impact on how we as repairers work has been the dominant issue for over a year now, and a lot of people are having trouble finding the answers to their questions. By holding these meetings, we hope to get the confusion out of the air so we can move forward in the automotive repair field in New Jersey.”
“Everyone is wondering where the industry is headed,” says AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant. “It’s similar to what happened when cars changed over to unibody. It was completely different than what was seen before, but we as an industry got through it. With aluminum, it was just timely to bring the information to those who need it so that we can progress.”
After the presentation, a brief question and answer segment will be held for those curious about aluminum repair. The meetings, exclusively available to AASP/NJ members, will be held on Thursday, September 24 and Tuesday, September 29 at 7pm at Reliable Automotive Equipment in Belford, NJ. Food and beverages will be served.
