2.5.24 – Inspiring and helping young collision repair professionals succeed and flourish in this industry is one of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey’s (AASP/NJ) many important missions. For the fourth consecutive year, AASP/NJ is proud to announce it will conduct its Young Technician of the Year award ceremony during the NORTHEAST 2024 Automotive Services Show weekend – March 15-17 – at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ.
A generous annual $5,000 donation from the Utica National Group Foundation (with the help of World Insurance Associates) makes these awards possible. AASP/NJ will once again bestow this honor upon two up-and-coming technicians/painters employed by a member shop or studying at a New Jersey technical high school. Each award recipient will receive $2,500 in tools and equipment to help them build their toolkit toward a successful career in collision repair.
“We’re thrilled to share that the Young Technician Award will be extended for the fourth consecutive year, thanks to a generous grant from the Utica National Group Foundation and World Insurance Associates,” shares AASP/NJ President Ken Miller. “This initiative has equipped numerous aspiring technicians with essential tools, facilitating their entry into the auto body industry. Excitingly, this year, we’ve expanded the eligibility to include students from New Jersey technical high schools, in addition to AASP/NJ member shops. We urge all instructors from New Jersey technical high schools to nominate their exceptional technicians.”
Nominations are currently being accepted by the association’s Scholarship Committee. Past winners have been recognized for displaying excellent work ethic, a willingness to learn and being all around team players. The deadline to submit nominations is February 23, 2024. If you are a member shop or a New Jersey technical high school instructor with a rising star on hand, visit bit.ly/youngtechaward to complete the nomination form.
