3.5.18 – The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) is excited to announce that 2018 Platinum Show Sponsor BASF will be bringing Industry Innovators to NORTHEAST 2018. Returning to the show are KC Mathieu (KC’s Paint Shop) and Jonathon Goolsby (Goolsby Customs), and Troy Spackman (Legacy Innovations) will be making his first appearance at NORTHEAST. Attendees will be able to meet these special guests on Friday, March 16 and Saturday March 17 at BASF’s booth (227).
KC Mathieu, owner and operator of KC’s Paint Shop, has hot rods in his blood; he painted his first car when he was just 12 years old. Now, his passion for the art shows in his work. At SEMA 2017, KC worked with BASF to launch KC’s Custom Color under the R-M paint line. The colors consist of seven shades of black infused with a hint of color — bronze, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red — to make them, like all of KC’s work, truly unique. KC’s work has been recognized by nationally known car enthusiasts, Barnett’s magazine, and was featured on Discover Channel’s series Fast N’ Loud.
KC will be making his third consecutive appearance at the NORTHEAST show!
Jonathan Goolsby has been customizing anything he could get his hands on for more than 20 years, starting at home in his garage, then as the head painter for the local Chevrolet dealership for 12+ years. Jonathan has built many high-profile custom cars and trucks for sponsor companies, magazine features and covers, as well as several SEMA show builds. In late 2004, the allure of owning his own business, along with the desire to continue to “up the ante” on his quality of craftsmanship led Jonathan and Vonda Goolsby to jump with both feet in and open Goolsby Customs. For the past 14 years, Jonathan has worked with his talented staff to build a strong customer base that is growing every day, along with a level of excellence that is hard to find in this industry. His passion is now split between building and encouraging young people to join the “hot rod and custom scene.”
Most recently, Goolsby Customs had three vehicles on display at SEMA 2017. A 1940 Ford Convertible, featuring custom BASF Glasurit 55 Line “Glasurit Cabernet, Goolsby Edition” created through the Color Ideation process, a 1932 Ford Roadster, featuring Glasurit 55 Line “Star Fire Blue” and a 1969 Pontiac Firebird, featuring Glasurit 55 Line “Frozen Gray.”
Goolsby Customs’ 1940 Ford will be on display at BASF booth 227 throughout NORTHEAST 2018 weekend!
Troy Spackman is a fabricator by trade. He has followed his passion of cars, combined with his dislike of school, and ambition in disassembling things and understanding how they work. He met fellow craftsman, body and paint expert Travis Coeyman, while they were in high school and with Troy’s interest in metal tinkering and Travis’ passion for automotive projects, they decided to open Legacy Innovations in 2006. Legacy Innovations (Li) is a dynamic, innovative and cutting edge company that specializes in vehicle customization.
Legacy Innovations’ current projects include an all-metal, wide-body Supra; a 700″ BBC-powered second generation Camaro, “Second Class;” and a 1934 Chevy Coupe displaying a fusion of hardcore race-inspired technology and the elegance of a modern twist. Troy is working through the BASF Color Ideation process for a modern twist on the classic red hue for the Supra, and a yet to be decided color for the Camaro.
