The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) will welcome I-CAR’s Northeast Regional Manager, Allan Smith, to its 2017 annual meeting to update attendees on the rapidly changing technology of the collision repair industry. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 26 at the Gran Centurions Banquet Hall in Clark, NJ. The meeting is set to begin at 7pm.

With brand-new systems such as adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning, training is no longer an option for technicians. In fact, not being properly trained on repairing these technologically-advanced vehicles is considered to be negligent.

“AASP/NJ is committed to the successful future of the auto collision repair industry and invites all industry professionals to join in on the conversation at this year’s annual meeting,” says AASP/NJ President, Jeff McDowell. “This meeting will be focusing on the future technology of the industry and how to stay ahead of the learning curve.”

Smith will be outlining the importance of training and certification as well as providing attendees with useful tips on how to see a return on their investments. Pete Fryzel, Senior I-CAR Instructor, will also be presenting during the meeting in which he will be discussing what the I-CAR Welding Certification entails in addition to the dos and don’ts of a proper weld.

Following the I-CAR presentation will be a very brief AASP/NJ awards ceremony and overview of AASP/NJ’s recent activities/accomplishments. The meeting will then open up to all attendees for an open discussion on industry trends, questions or concerns.

Dinner will be served promptly at 7:30pm. Although there is a $50 registration fee for members and a $75 registration fee for non-members to attend this meeting, all proceeds will be going directly to the AASP/NJ Legal Fund in order to address the issues that are negatively affecting the collision industry.
