For the twelfth consecutive year, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) is paying tribute to a beloved former Board member with their 2016 Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing. This year’s event (normally held in May) will be held Monday, August 29 at the Colonia Country Club in Colonia, NJ. Along with honoring the late industry veteran, the outing raises money in his name, helping to engage and inspire the next generation of automotive technicians to follow in his footsteps.

Although not a golfer himself, AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell looks forward to hosting the event each year. “It’s a great day out away from the shop,” he says, “and it gives you a chance to just relax, play some golf and share some camaraderie with your peers. Everyone enjoys it tremendously.”

AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant, who puts the event together, adds “Sometimes you want to just put the day-to-day business aside and have a good time. This outing provides our members and vendors a chance to do that. Plus it’s for a great cause. I know Lou would have loved it.”

Registration for the Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing starts at 10:00am with lunch served at 11:30am followed by a 1:00pm shotgun start. The tournament will conclude with a cash bar, dinner and prizes.

Registration forms for participants and sponsors for this year’s Golf Outing are available at www.aaspnj.org or contact Charles Bryant at (732) 922-8909 for more information.
