On Monday, May 18, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) will hold their 11th annual Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing at the Colonia Country Club in Colonia, NJ. The event, which pays tribute to former Board member and influential part of the association Lou Scoras, also raises money for a scholarship in his name, helping to engage and inspire the next generation of automotive technicians.

As one of the association’s most popular events, the Outing typically hosts over 100 players and dozens of sponsors. AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant expects this year’s event to be bigger than ever. “It’s great to support such an important cause, one that the Board is very passionate about,” he says. “Plus, from what I hear from shops, everyone is looking forward to taking advantage of the nice weather and having some fun on the links, especially because of the rough winter we’ve just had.”

Ten years into the event, AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell says the Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing has become a tradition for many who attend. “It’s always a very successful event, one that I think Lou would have been proud of,” he states. “Everyone always has a great time and we get to support a very important cause in the meantime. We look forward to seeing some familiar faces come out, as well as some new ones. It’s a perfect opportunity to relax, network and have some fun and friendly competition.”

Registration for the Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing begins at 10am, followed by an 11:30am lunch and a 1pm shotgun start. The tournament will conclude with a cash bar, dinner and prizes beginning at 5:30pm. For more information on this year’s Golf Outing and AASP/NJ, please contact Charles Bryant at (732) 922-8909.
