On Thursday, October 30, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) will hold their 2014 Annual Meeting at the Holiday Inn of Clark, New Jersey. The event will begin at 7pm with a cash bar, leading into a 7:30pm dinner.
Presenting at the event will be industry renowned speaker Erica Eversman, J.D., chief counsel for Vehicle Information Services, Inc. Her presentation is titled The New American Revolution and will be outlining the different ways in which the national collision repair industry has been fighting back against the insurance industry. She will go over the multi-district lawsuits in Mississippi, Indiana, Utah, Tennessee and Florida against multiple insurers; the alleged RICO suit against State Farm, Allstate, Geico, Progressive, Farmer, Liberty Mutual and Nationwide, as well as the Louisiana Attorney General’s case against State Farm. Eversman is recognized nationally as a leading legal authority on these types of suits. She will outline each one of these legal actions and discuss the impact they will likely have on the collision repair industry. Also speaking on these topics will be AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant.
